As Managing Parter of Tang Consulting in Shanghai and Dean of the X Thinking Instutute, Mike Lai has over 15 years experience helping clients position, envision, design, deliver, operate, measure, and manage brand experiences. His experience covers a wide number of industries in the United States and Greater China, including the financial, consumer electronics, automotive, and education industries.

As Managing Partner and Head of the User Enterprise Strategy Transformation at TANG Consulting, Mike works closely with Senior and Executive Leadership Teams in the development of eXperience-driven strategies and organizational transformation initiatives.

As Dean of X Thinking Institute, Mike leads the research and development of new approaches, methods, and tools in the emerging area of user enterprises and X Thinking.

His clients have included companies such as Adidas, Alliance Data, Amway, Baojun, Big Lots, Changhong, Infinitus, JLR, JPMorgan Chase, Legg Mason, Microsoft, Nationwide Insurance, The Ohio State University, and more.

In addition to consulting, Mike is a respected educator, previously holding the post Associate Professor at the College of Design and Innovation, Tongji University (China). He has previously held posts at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Hong Kong) and the Columbus College of Art & Design (United States).  Mike holds a PhD in Design from Tsinghua University (China), a Master of Design (MDes) in Interaction Design from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Hong Kong), and a BFA in Advertising & Graphic Design from the Columbus College of Art & Design (United States).
